CEATEC Day-1, 45mn before we get in. Testing T-Mobile’s UMA on the local Wi-Fi network
Posted on Sep 29, 08 05:22 PM PDT

[CEATEC 2008] We’re 50 minutes away from the CEATEC opening and I’m currently posting via the WIIF connection. Although my phone (Blackberry 8320 Curve/T-Mobile) doesn’t work on Softbank’s network (it supports only 3G phones), I’m saved by the fact that UMA works perfectly on the show’s Wi-Fi connection. My phone happily thinks that I’m in the US and I can call the rest of the Ubergizmo team for free (and get my Blackberry email), thanks to the HotSpot@Home feature. I love UMA.
