iRex Reader 1000 Ready For Release

The iRex Reader 1000 is due to make its debut later next Monday, at least that's what Forbes claims. I hope that this will be a substantial improvement over the regular iLiad e-reader. iRex has its sights set on business users with the new Reader 1000 that features a 10.2" display which is compatible with a wide variety of formats, including popular ones like PDF, Word and HTML-rendered documents. Folks looking forward to video and color will be disappointed though, but you do have the advantage of a touch screen display that allows you to make impromptu notes and markups. The iRex Reader 1000 is able to last for up to 80 hours on a single charge, and iRex is expected to charge a whopping $650 for this, while the writable screen model will cost another $100. Those who want more power can opt for the model that has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 3G connectivity for $850. Nuts!
