Noise Canceling Technology In Toyotas
Posted on Sep 8, 08 11:17 AM PDT

Toyota enginners have successfully integrated noise canceling technology in the new Crown Hybrid car, relying on a system that uses a trio of microphones as well as three permanently-on active phase speakers that will help maintain silence within the vehicle. This system is smart enough to disregard music in the background. This active noise control system will use the microphones (located at head level) to detect whatever disruptive noise, where the phase speakers will send antiphase signals to counter the noise, reducing muffled noise of approximately 50-150Hz all the way down to 8dB. Great if you have sleeping kids behind, as their rest won't be interrupted.
