Panasonic Lumix DMC-G1 Digital Camera
Posted on Sep 12, 08 10:36 AM PDT

It can get pretty tricky trying to classify the Panasonic Lumix DMC-G1 - it falls somewhere in the middle of an SLR and a point-and-shoot. This is the first Micro Four Thirds camera from Panasonic, and for the uninitiated, Four Third cameras enable manufacturers to develop interoperable exchangeable lenses. The DMC-G1 is touted to be the smallest and lightest of such cameras, but do expect this record to be broken not too long after. Shipping this November with a Lumix G Vario 14-45mm/F3.5- 5.6 ASPH/MEGA O.I.S lens, other features on the DMC-G1 include a 12.1 megapixel sensor, a 3" LCD display and face detection among others.
