Panasonic Offers Gobi On New Toughbooks
Posted on Sep 11, 08 04:53 AM PDT

Panasonic has decided to include Gobi technology on its entire range of new Toughbook machines, and these will be available on store shelves as soon as October. No idea on how much extra you will need to fork out for one of these, as a standard Toughbook is already much more expensive compared to a regular notebook. For the uninitiated, Gobi is a mobile internet chipset from Qualcomm that allows one to switch from EV-DO to HSPA at the flip of a software switch, letting one remain connected at all times. This unification of wireless internet technologies is important as the world becomes a global village, where physical boundaries are a thing of the past as one traverses the world, ready to be online at all times.
