Smart Posters Use NFC
Posted on Sep 3, 08 11:08 PM PDT

Smart posters that rely on Near Field Communication (NFC) technology are currently being tested in Japan, helping users view digital content with a simple act of holding a compatible handset near the posters. SoftBank Mobile, NTT Data, Hitachi and Gemalto are currently testing the technology with Wall-E and Tinker Bell movie posters that come with integrated NFC tags. This test period will last throughout October, where test participants will receive and view digital content like movie stills and trailers once their cell phones are held up. I wonder how many cell phones can be connected to a single smart poster simultaneously.
