Posted on Sep 9, 08 09:13 AM PDT

Sony has a brand new VAIO notebook dock that comes with embedded DisplayLink USB graphics technology, a first from Sony. This USB-based universal notebook dock will ship to the US, Europe and Japan, enabling VAIO notebook users to hook up via an analog or DVI display to a laptop using USB 2.0, thanks to the innovative multi-monitor computing technology from DisplayLink. This allows the Sony VAIO dock to work with virtually any display that relies on an analog or DVI connector, supporting a maximum resolution of 1,600 x 1,200. Perfect for corporations who want to deploy universal docking stations to any worker regardless of their notebook brand. The Sony VAIO Docking Station (also known as the VGP-UPR1) will retail for $199.99.
