TDK Snags Highest Surface Recording Density Record
Posted on Sep 30, 08 10:22 PM PDT

TDK has taken over Toshiba's position where having the highest surface recording density is concerned, with a new 803Gbits/inch2 1.8" double sided 260GB drive being paraded at CEATEC. This is made possible courtesy of an improved TMP head. More miniaturization to follow in the near future, that's for sure, and that would translate into smaller devices with higher capacities for us consumers.
