Upcoming Buffalo LinkStation Quad 1TB to 4TB

Available in 1, 2, 3 and 4 Terabytes, the Linkstation Quad is Buffalo's high-end consumer-level network storage device. As such, it is certified DLNA, which means that it can stream media files to compatible networked multi-media appliances. There are other features that caught my attention: BitTorrent server, iTunes server, WebAccess, RAID. I have not tried the setup yet, so can't comment on that. In theory, the drive should be easily upgradable: the front can be removed quickly, thanks to its magnetic mounting system. By default, it is choosing a RAID configuration that can resist a drive failure. The corresponding light would turn red, and the user would need to swap a drive to maintain the level of protection. Prices have not been disclosed yet.
