ATI Radeon 4830 card launched. Good price/performance ratio that pokes the GeForce 9800GT

ATI has just released their Radeon 4830 graphics card. Overall, it has a very good price/performance ratio and now ATI can attack the $130 segment of the discrete GPU market - that's where the big money is. At this price point, it goes against NVIDIA's GeForce 9800GT, and if ATI had moved faster (a few months ago) it could have done some real damage, but NVIDIA has since released new drivers that provided performance boost (that's an old trick that still works...) that makes choosing the 4830 a less obvious option. It's a good card but check the street prices as they might be substantially lower than the $130 MSRP.
