Ecobee Smart Thermostat Saves Energy
Posted on Oct 15, 08 07:29 PM PDT

Ecobee has a new Smart Thermostat that helps you save some dollars at the end of the month when the power bill arrives. It connects to your home network via WiFi and comes with optional ZigBee expansion slots should you wish to integrate it into a more complete home automation setup. The $385 price point will take quite some time to pay off for itself (Ecobee claims a window period of 12 to 18 months) after you become more conscious of your power usage patterns and make the necessary adjustments, but it does make your pad look a little bit more futuristic. The Ecobee Smart Thermostat will ship early next year onwards, giving you plenty of time to save up the 385 clams required.
