Firefox Mobile to debut in 'a few weeks'

That's coming directly from Mozilla CEO John Lilly during an interview with Linux Insider (on Oct 5 2008).
Question: And what are you doing in mobile?
Answer: We want to make sure that the Web on mobile is more like the Web than what the mobile industry offers today, which is closed, separate networks and not a very good information-getting experience for the user. The first thing is to bring Firefox to mobile devices. We're working on that, and we'll see some alphas in a few weeks. The mobile web has recently been a little better than what he's describing, but yes, it's far from being what it could be. The main problem is: there's little way to make money from a mobile website anyways, so there's no incentive for most companies to do so. By the way, did you try ubergizmo.mobi?
