Flexible OLED Element To Be Mass Produced

Researchers who have been busting their rear ends on the European ROLLED project have successfully developed a flexible OLED element which is able to be mass produced using roll-to-roll printing technology. This means such OLED elements can be utilized to add value to product packages, and is widely considered to be much cheaper compared to traditional manufacturing methods. Sounds as though product packaging is going to get even more environment friendly - as it the world doesn't already have more than enough plastics to contend with, these OLED displays could soon be dirt cheap despite being able to play back video and changing information that people toss them around like discarded tissue.
