Google Unveils My Location With Wi-Fi
Posted on Oct 22, 08 10:55 AM PDT

Google's engineers never seem to run out of inspiration, and their latest efforts have resulted in an even more accurate location thanks to the feature known as My Location with Wi-Fi. What this feature does is allow anyone with a Wi-Fi enabled device to figure out exactly where they are using nearby Wi-Fi access points. According to Google, “Since the range of a Wi-Fi access point is smaller than that of a cell phone tower, this often results in a much more accurate position.” Unfortunately for many other people, how many of you are actually living in a truly metropolitan area that boasts Wi-Fi connectivity just around the corner of each block?
