Nintendo Release DSi Tomorrow In Japan
Posted on Oct 31, 08 10:18 AM PDT

Japanese will be the blessed ones to get hold of the Nintendo DSi from tomorrow onwards, as it retails for $192 (after conversion, no thanks to the stronger yen) there in an effort to revive slowing domestic sales ahead of the upcoming holiday season. DS sales in Japan have plummeted from its favorable highs for quite a few months already, with Sony's PSP taking top spot as it tries to narrow the gap with Nintendo's runaway winner. So far, 200,000 units have been shipped for the three-day weekend, and Nintendo plans to ship another 100,000 units from November 4th onwards. The rest of the world will have to wait, as usual.
