This 3D object was 'printed' on an Objet Alaris printer

Objet has given us this little model that has the particularity of being built using a 3D Printer (see our photo gallery): the Alaris 30. from a 3D model, the printer is capable of building an object using photopolymer (plastic) with a surprising accuracy. According to the specifications, the Alaris 30 is capable of depositing layers upon layers that are as thin as 25 micron. It is so precise that it is capable of creating moving parts (no assembly required, of course). This is probably too expensive for the average hobbyist, but design firms might be drawn into something like this in the future. Objet's website.
