Alarm Clock Hacked To Open Window Blinds
Posted on Nov 19, 08 05:52 AM PDT

There is nothing quite like using natural sunlight to get you out of bed - and some smart aleck managed to do so by hacking his own alarm clock, allowing it to open up the window blinds whenever the alarm goes off as an added stimulus to get you up and running for the day. Of course, this won't really work if you intend to wake up before sunrise, but for the most of us, there is nothing more irritating that having strong sunlight shine in our faces even when we think we deserve a few more minutes in the bed. A microcontroller handles the alarm signal, helping drive the servo-wired blinds as well.
