AT&T Announces Quickfire Messaging Phone

AT&T's latest messaging phone, the Quickfire has begun to ship, so those who are heavy users of SMS will be pleased to know that this device was specially developed to cater for such a crowd. You get a slider form factor that comes with a touch screen display for easy navigation, while a full QWERTY keyboard makes text messaging and email composing a snap. The 1.3 megapixel camera does a decent enough job for casual images, although we're wondering why couldn't they throw in at least a 2 megapixel shooter which is the bare minimum these days? Other features include 3G support, compatibility with AT&T's Napster Mobile and eMusic Mobile download services, an aGPS chipset, stereo Bluetooth connectivity, a microSD memory card slot and 35MB of internal memory. You can choose to view your messages in portrait or landscape orientation, and the AT&T Quickfire will be going for $149.99 after a two-year contract and mail-in rebate.
