Gesture-controlled Light Switch Concept
Posted on Nov 26, 08 09:08 AM PDT

Apple must be commended for pushing multi-touch technology so that it can take off in a very big way, and perhaps through this exercise of proliferation, future devices like this gesture-controlled light switch can be created for homes worldwide. This light switch will parse multi-touch gestures into various actions, including lighting up a roomful of lights in unison or individually. The lights will be mapped onto the touchpad beforehand according to how they're position, while a simple sliding motion toward or away from a specific light would brighten or dim it individually. A circular gesture will allow you to control all the bulbs simulaneously. Anyone else would like to see this concept enter the realm of reality?
