iPhone 2.2 Jailbreak

It has only been two days since the iPhone 2.2 firmware update and already the iPhone Dev Team has released a jailbreak of the firmware.QuickPwn and Pwnage for 2.2 were posted on their blog Saturday. They are compatible with Windows and Mac machines. Instructions are available on the site as well. The Dev's post also included a warning about the baseband chip:
"Think of it like a cable modem or other peripheral that is attached to your home PC that needs occasional updates. When a software update is released and presented to you within iTunes the baseband is sometimes updated (to fix bugs or add new features). The 2.2 update for the iPhone 3G contains such an update, so running the vanilla updater straight away with iTunes will reprogram and update the baseband. This could be bad for certain people, depending on your ultimate aim. " (link)
It appears that the iPhone Dev Team is also still hard at work trying to unlock the 3G. However it has been a difficult path, due to the baseband chip technology. You can already unlock the 3G by modifying your SIM card, but the Dev Team wants a smoother, download and install software-based unlock.
