Finally it is coming for Mac! We already published about this digital pen when it launched at DEMO in February. The Mac version is finally coming, just in time for Christmas and this gadget is one of the Uber10. The Mac Public Beta will be available as a free download on Nov. 24 at www.livescribe.com/install.
New features for Windows are now available too: the long awaited handwriting to text transcription complementary software, "MyScript for Livescribe" by Vision Objects, it can be downloaded on Nov 24 as a free 30-day trial or purchased for $29.95. And with the Livescribe Desktop for Windows 1.4, users will be able to print their own dot paper for free.
This pen captures handwriting and synchronizes the audio recording to the writing. The controls are printed on each page of the dot paper notebook, and users can record, stop, fast forward, jump ahead, pause, speed up or slow down the audio recordings by tapping the controls with the pen. The notes can be uploaded as pdf files with the corresponding audio files in the computer. The search on the handwriting for specific words is pretty amazing. Notes can be shared online with friends or colleagues.
