MacBook Air To Go Carbon Fiber
Posted on Nov 11, 08 05:00 PM PDT

As if the MacBook Air isn't light enough already, Apple is trying to further reduce that weight to hit the sub-3 pound category with its MacBook Air revision. Word has it that Apple will be relying on carbon fiber parts to substitute certain structural components which are currently cast from heavier (relatively speaking, of course) aircraft-grade aluminum. This does not mean the entire MacBook Air will be made out of carbon fiber, only a portion of its chassis. One thing's for sure though - any revised MacBook Air surely won't be cheaper than the current high price tag, which continues to place it out of reach for many.
