Solar-powered Christmas Tree In Japan

Christmas arrives early in Japan with this solar-powered Christmas tree, featuring 20,000 or so LEDs that dot the entire 15-meter behemoth. It is on parade at the Mitsukoshi department store in Tokyo's Nihonbashi district, and will be on display until December 25th. At least you can rest easy knowing to light up such a monstrosity won't come at a detrimental cost to the environment since a renewable energy source is used. Imagine how much greener the world would be if all Christmas trees were solar-powered...
