1TB Optical Disk From Pioneer to Be Compatible with the PS3, But What Does 'Compatible' Really mean?

I just spotted a report from EDGE that mentions how Pioneer intends to make their upcoming 1TB optical disc compatible with the PlayStation 3. In case you missed it, we spotted a 400GB optical disc Pioneer prototype at CEATEC, Japan. Pioneer is confident that a future 1TB version could be "read" on the PS3.
However, it is really not clear whether they expect the PS3 to be able to read the full Terabyte (TB) of data or just a 50GB layer? While many are assuming that it is the full Terabyte that Pioneer is referring to, I have found little evidence to support it and we would love to kow for sure. What's your take? 50GB or a full Terabyte? Also, would game developers then make Terabytes games? Drop a comment!
