Lured by the 70% revenue share that developers get from the iPhone App Store, Konami has decided to port several games: Metal Gear solid, Silent Hill, Dance Dance Revolution (DDR) and Frogger.
There is little doubt that they will end up selling well and generate a mountain of cash for Konami, so we are sure that more developers are going to follow Konami's lead.
You need to know that the developer usually gets a small share of the sales revenues in traditional channels. It is something like 20% developer, 30% publisher and 50% distribution. With the App Store, companies have a chance to make more money - but it works better for those who are developer and publisher at the same time. The publisher is usually the entity that funds the development.
