Asus Eee Box with HDMI
Posted on Dec 5, 08 06:39 AM PDT

Updated models of the Eee box, namely Eee Box B204 and Eee Box B206 feature an HDMI connection, which is the de-facto standard for televisions these days. It's no surprise that Asus has also added Eee Cinema, an application that plays multimedia content, including HD video - thanks to the help of its ATI Radeon HD 3400 256MB graphics processor. Note that the Eee B206 comes with WiFi-N, the fastest wireless networking on the market. That might come in handy to stream media files from a remote server.
Mark my words: it won't be long until these boxes like these record TV (+$100) and play Blu-Ray movies (+$150). At the moment, that would push them into a higher price range (too high), but Moore's law is relentlessly crushing prices, so it's just a matter of time.
