Eee PC System Shrinker
Posted on Dec 9, 08 06:49 PM PDT

As more and more netbooks these days come in large capacity hard drives ranging from 80GB all the way to 160GB, storage space shouldn't be too much of a concern, although there are still other folks who own netbooks with SSDs that are limited in size (in line with keeping netbook prices low). Asus caters to the latter category with this Windows utility known as Eee PC System Shrinker. What this utility does is, it will scan your whole system and delete unnecessary files to free up space. This reminds me of Double Space back in the MS-DOS days, where I could effectively turn my 40MB hard drive into 80MB due to the compression technology that Double Space uses, while suffering from a minor performance hit.
