Ericsson Work With Intel To Prevent Laptop Theft
Posted on Dec 11, 08 07:57 AM PDT

Laptop theft is commonplace these days with the sheer number of people toting these items around, but that doesn't mean you're completely helpless. Ericsson has just announced the availability of its HSPA-capable Mobile Broadband Modules which will work in tandem with Intel's Anti-Theft Technology. These Ericsson modules support remote-SMS that are able to lock a stolen or lost notebook, while integrated GPS allows the laptop to transmit its location to make it easier to track down by the relevant authorities. We can expect to see this solution hit the market starting from the second half of next year onwards.
