Notebooks used to be a luxury many years ago, but time and technology has made it so affordable, virtually anyone is able to own one. Unfortunately, doing some work in the airplane on a notebook can be quite a cramped affair in Economy Class, which is where netbooks come in to save the day. Still, you won't get the space that comes with Business and First Class, but Japan Airlines have come up with a solution for tis new international premium economy seat. Known as the JAL Sky Shell Seat, it has a tray that can hold a fully opened A4-sized notebook without being an obstacle to the passenger(s) beside you. This seat made its maiden appearance on Japan Airline’s Tokyo-London flight last year, and will be expanded to a variety of other flights in due time.
