Mercedes-Benz Offers Splitview Command System
Posted on Dec 10, 08 07:55 PM PDT

Mercedes-Benz's brand new Splitview Command system is finally ready to make its mark in a production vehicle and by all accounts, it shares a very strong resemblance to the Delphi offering that was seen at CES earlier this year. The 8" display is large enough for the driver to check out the GPS system while the passenger is able to enjoy his/her favorite DVD on the same display. This is made possible thanks to a special filter that masks the display, and what you see depends on the viewing angle which you're at. There is no word on pricing, but rumors have it that the Splitview Command system will be a standard feature on all S-Class models from next summer onwards. Well, if you can afford an S-Class, chances are you be bothered by the price of this system at all.
