No Sony PSP2

Sorry to pour cold water on your holidays, folks, but Sony executives have come out to deny earlier whispers of a PSP2 being released once the next hardware refresh of the PSP hits the 4000 mark. This is a bummer, as the PSP will be pretty aged by the end of next year, and they aren't about to beat Nintendo's DS platform in terms of lifetime sales anytime soon. While their hardware still remains superior to the DS Lite and DSi, perhaps a greater technological push could help propel the PSP2 to be the in-thing and replace the DSi? Well, that's something Sony's boffins will have to think about, and they ought to shore up the software side as well since there is much greater value in that department compared to hardware.
