Orange To Offer High Definition Mobile TV Service
Posted on Dec 1, 08 06:01 PM PDT

Orange is about to embark on its high-definition mobile TV service soon, although don't expect full HD resolution (1080p) although the definition will definitely be higher than normal. Word has it five dozen channels will run on Orange's 3G+ UMA platform, and the LG Secret KF757 holds the distinction of being the first handset to support such a service, thanks to the pre-loaded Orange TV Player. This player will come with a built-in EPG (Electronic Programme Guide), and you can change channels just like a standard TV - something new since this isn't normal for video streams from a mobile portal. No idea which region Orange will launch this service in though. All this sounds nice and dandy, considering the resolution that phones like the HTC Touch Pro enjoy, but users don't really care.
