Sierra Wireless Rolls Out ExpressCard Modems

Do you still have an empty ExpressCard slot in your notebook that has not gotten any love whatsoever throughout its lifetime? Perhaps it is time to change that with two new offerings from Sierra Wireless - the AirCard 501 and AirCard 502 ExpressCard modems. These will plug into any vacant ExpressCard slot, and they jut a mere 3cm out so you won't need to worry about the card breaking itself in two when plugged in during your travels. In addition, it uses an internal antenna so you won't need to worry about snapping that part off in an accidental moment as well. Download speeds have been stated at 7.2Mbps, while upload speeds can touch 5.76Mbps - although real world performance will differ greatly. The AirCard 501 supports 850/1900/2100 MHz bands whereas the AirCard 502 covers 900/1900/2100 MHz territory, and both are backward compatible with UMTS, EDGE and GSM networks across the world.
