Sony Ericsson Preps Flagship Walkman Phone

Sony Ericsson executives are probably drooling over the Nokia N97 today, but the momentary pause ought to cause them to reflect on how they would want to approach their flagship Walkman phone that will be revealed next year. So far, official specifications for this unnamed phone include :-

• Compact metal housing
• 2.6" display
• Wi-Fi connectivity
• 8.1 megapixel camera with auto-focus
• Face detection, photo-flash
• QVGA video recording at 30 fps
• Walkman 4.0 software
• Standard 3.5mm audio jack
• Stereo speakers
• Dedicated music player keys

Doesn't sound as though it is going to knock the Nokia N97 off its perch though. Well, next month's CES ought to shed more light on this mystery handset, followed by even more news at the Mobile World Congress where it will be officially announced.
