Textecution For Android Users

It is a no-brainer that texting while driving does not only endanger your life but that of fellow road users as well, which is why eLYK Innovation has developed this $10 application known as Textecution for Google’s Android mobile platform. This program will run quietly in the background, relying on the handset's GPS system to detect whenever the phone is traveling faster than 10mph, whereby the phone's SMS capabilities will be locked out. When the handset reaches a standstill, it will enable the text function after a few seconds. We do have some gripes with this - what if we're taking public transport? Surely the GPS system can't tell the difference, does that mean I can text on a bus or train? In addition, there is no password protection to prevent removal of the program. Guess there are still plenty of kinks to be worked out, but at least it is a start in greater road safety.
