Tokyo Installs Cell Phone Jammers At ATMs
Posted on Dec 10, 08 07:46 PM PDT

Tokyo banks have started to install cell phone jammers at strategic ATM locations around the district so that elderly folk won't fall for phone frauds. This is in response to swindlers who target effable old folks, asking them to go to the bank and withdraw cash from ATM machines while remaining on the line, only to mug these elderly people shortly thereafter. Hopefully this practice will be able to spread to other parts of the world where this scam is in operation, although that would potentially mean you can no longer call your friend at the cash deposit machine to get his/her account number on the spot while dropping in a few Benjamins.
