VIA Prepares SSE4-enabled Dual Core Nano Processors
Posted on Dec 31, 08 01:30 AM PDT

VIA is set on sampling a dual-core version of its Nano processor sometime in the second half of next year, and they will follow that up by shipping their next generation processor in volume sometime later next year or early 2010 - at least that's what we heard on the grapevine. These new X86-compatible Nano processors will target the fast growing adoption of Intel's Atom processors, so hopefully with more competition us consumers will win out in the end as everybody works to offer the most cost-effective and efficient product to the end user. It is reported that engineering samples of the Nano 3000 series processors will be completed in Q1 next year, where it will be manufactured using Fujitsu Electronics' 65nm process.
