Posted on Jan 5, 09 10:37 AM PDT

The new camcorders are named Vixia HF S10, Vixia HF20, Vixia HF200 and Vixia HF S100. All of them can record full HD movies (1080p) in AVCHD at 24Mbps. They use the latest DIGICV III video processor with new software to perform face detection and advanced image processing/analysis. This time canon used a fairly big lens (58mm) for their consumer camcorders - that basically will translate to higher image quality as this is the single most important feature on such an imaging device. Now, here are a few specific things:
HF20- 32GB internal memory + SD recording
- No internal memory, SD recording only
- 32GB internal memory
- 1/2.6" CMOS sensor
No pricing has been announced at this point.
