Disposable Pre-Paid Phone
Posted on Jan 12, 09 10:56 AM PDT

The Disposable Pre-Paid Phone concept is one of the more basic handsets you would find around, since it is supposed to be affordable enough for everyone to purchase for use in an emergency. It is highly portable since you can wear it around your wrist, but how would the billing system work? Will it come with pre-paid minutes that can make international calls? If so, will there be any expiry date for the minutes? Can we top up those minutes? So many questions, but at least the iPod-white color it comes in is pleasing to the eye. One thing it lacks though is an alphanumeric keypad - in times of emergencies, sometimes sending text messages might be a better idea (especially if you're holed up with a terrorist who prefers everyone to maintain radio silence with the outside world). Ah well, if it ever gets released, we suppose they'll iron out all the relevant kinks.
