DIY 3D Camera Without Busting Your Savings

So you’ve always wanted a 3D camera of your own, but can’t bring yourself to part with a wad of cash for it? Fret not – Photojojo has a way out with a DIY 3D camera that won’t cost you more than $15. All you need is a couple of disposable cameras and some duct tape, and you’re good to go.
Step 1: Turn one of the cameras upside down to get the two lenses as close together as possible (lenses aren’t usually located in the center of the camera). Line the cameras up so the lenses are on the same level.
Step 2: Tape the cameras together with duct tape. Don’t cover up the shutter buttons or winding mechanisms.
Step 3: Go out and shoot! To take a picture, press both shutter buttons at the same time.
Step 4: Just have fun and accept that this method won’t give you pro results.
Bear in mind that the 3D effect won’t be perfect as the lenses are approximately 4″ apart, which is farther compared to human eyes that tend to stay 2.5″ to 3″ apart. Also remember that these cameras won’t focus on anything closer than three feet so that you won’t waste any shots.
