Intel Classmate PC update @ CES 2009

Intel just showed their new classmate PC. We live blogged it on live.ubergizmo.com (use twitter/rss too). The take away is that “cheap hardware” isn’t a panacea. It takes the support of the education community, parents, local government and more to succeed. There are 900 Million students (excluding embargoed countries) that could be potential users.

- Adapted software stack
- Runs on Atom 7” or 8.9” display (800x480 or 1024x600)
- 4 or 6 cell battery (4 hrs or 6hrs)
- 238 x 251 x 42 mm (with handle)
- 1.27 and 1.49 kg.
- Drop test: from 60cm
