Intel To Pack 320GB In SSDs This Fall

Word has it that Intel has plans to double the capacity of its SSD this fall, touching the 320GB mark by using its 34nm flash process that enables one to pack more storage right smack into a given space. While there is no official confirmation from Intel on this claim, it more or less follows the historical trend for SSDs (they do have a relatively young history, that we must admit) that double in capacity just about every year. Apart from an ever growing SSD capacity, we also have early details concerning Braidwood - an update of Intel's Turbo Memory which is slated for an early 2010 release that will come with up to 16GB of flash cache so that application load times can be reduced on systems that run on hard drives.
