Intelligent Cash Registers Concept
Posted on Jan 10, 09 06:55 AM PDT

It makes perfect sense for cash registers to get smart sooner in the future, and here we are with the Intelligent Cash Registers concept. These are supposed to be able to remember who you are while having an inkling of what your interests are. Intel will release a prototype at the National Retail Federation show in New York on Sunday, and it is the system that they're touting, so let us move our focus away from the hardawre. This is a collaboration between Intel and Frog Design, where the latter will handle the hardware to make sure its 3" touchscreen terminal functions seamlessly with Intel's latest processors. It will feature RFID card compatibility and rely on the Internet's ability to up-sell and appeal to your impulse buying behavior. Would be interesting to see what such a machine serves up customers in Vegas...
