Microsoft Talks About Apple Tax, Still Doesn't Get It
Who the heck wants to read this? Propaganda PR needs to be quick and easy

Microsoft has been talking about the Apple Tax, the notion that users pay an extra premium that they don't need to, when buying Apple products. So they argue that customers could save $100 by buying a Dell Studio Hybrid over a Mac mini, or that the Mac Pro is 2x the price of a similar PC workstation. Both facts are true, but mostly irrelevant.

Most professionals who buy Mac Pros do it because they are tied with a legacy of products and production pipelines that are built on the Mac platform.

Secondly customers don't buy personal computers from Apple because they "need to" but because they "want to". Apple has a better industrial design and the market shows that it's worth something. Now, I think that when you need to educate your customer on why they should not buy from your competition, it's probably going downhill. Just make something that people would pay for instead of pouring millions into ads that nobody gets.

PS: I'm not even an Apple fan, and I don't actively use a mac, although we do have a few in the office.
