Mobile Internet Device (MID) from Acer?

Acer has been on a roll, thanks to Netbooks. Now the company might take a bold move into a segment that has not proven to be a blockbuster: MIDs.
Electronic Pulp has published the blueprints of an Acer MID as found in the US patent office website. The plans don't reveal what's inside, but we can guess that it's based on Intel's platform (although it could technically be an ARM as well) but we can see that it will have a 3.5mm audio jack and a dock connector. It’s a good time to ask: what do you think if MIDs, why would you get one, and why don’t you have one yet?
