Myka Torrent Box Starts To Ship

Fans of BitTorrent downloads, rejoice! Myka has just released word that they will begin to ship the long awaited BitTorrent downloading TV box sometime within 4 to 6 weeks' time, all this after a half year delay or so. This is due to the fact that the company failed to raise the necessary financing to begin production, but thankfully that has been resolved to get the factories in China humming along. Folks who have placed a pre-order will be able to get their hands on one pretty soon, much to the chagrin of media companies who are against BitTorrent downloads due to the many pirated copies of their intellectual property floating around. Available in 80GB, 160GB and 500GB capacities, the Myka Torrent Box will hook up to the Internet and TV directly, featuring a built-in BitTorrent protocol that downloads flagged videos while transferring them to your computing device of choice. Depending on the capacity, prices range from $299 to $459. It will be interesting to see what kind of competition this will bring to the scene. Will video-on-demand services dry up after this?
