Nokia N73 Balloons In Size
Posted on Jan 10, 09 06:58 AM PDT

The initial batch of N Series of phones from Nokia might be pretty feature packed for their generation, but they certainly came with a host of problems as well, and we have news that certain BP-6M batteries found in the Nokia N73 will balloon in size to a point where the phone case won't close properly. Well on the bright side of things, at least the battery didn't explode, righr? This problem affects lithium ion batteries that generally swell up after several years, regardless of whether they are used or not. There is no inherent risk other than the fact that it would be pretty hard to fit the battery into the charger or device. There is no word from Nokia as to how common the problem is, but having a swelled battery that prevents the back case from closing properly will affect the camera function of the handset.
