Pentax Optio P70: 12 Megapixel Compact
Posted on Jan 5, 09 02:02 PM PDT

[CES 2009] Pentax is coming up with two new cameras for CES. The Optio P70 shoots 12 Megapixels images, has a 4x optical zoom (equivalent 28-112 mm)) and has a 720P video mode but at 15 fps it is a bit too low, we would hope for 30 fps. The cool feature is the Face Recognition that can track up to 32 faces in 0.03, very useful for people who like to shoot large groups of friends, this might be the hot gadget for Spring Break. The price is ok too, if you compare it to the current 10 MP Cybershot for example , that shoots video at less than 10 fps and cost $400! It will ship in February 2009 for $199.95. Read more features after the jump.
