Pioneers BDP-320 is packed with high-end features such as gradation improvement (to avoid color bending at the content level) or noise reduction. It’s important to realize that not all Blu-Ray discs are created equal. Recently released movies tend to have better image quality, thanks to advancement in content creation. Also, computer-graphics (CG) movies often have the best image quality of all (at least in terms of sharpness and saturation). Finally, there’s also standard DVD playback: older TV shows in particular have not been created with HD in mind and could help some post-processing help. When connected to a Kuro TV, BDP-320 can use the unified remote control system and some proprietary sound mojo.
