Safari Takes Top Spot In US Mobile Browser

Safari has been officially confirmed as the top mobile web browser used in the US, thanks to the high adoption rate of iPhones and iPod touch as reported by online advertising trackers AdMob. According to AdMob, Safari holds a whopping 48% of the mobile web market, clearly trouncing its rivals BlackBerry and Windows Mobile that have 19% and 15% of the market share, respectively. As for the remaining 18% of the market, it comprises of a plethora of third party and built-in browsers such as Symbian-powered handsets. As for worldwide figures, an assumption is made where 3G connectivity is more prevalent in selected countries that Safari commands 32% of smartphone browsing and 10.8% of the overall mobile web.
